Jack

Centre Director

As the son and nephew of our owners, Ross and Paul, Jack brings a deep commitment to the core values that define our childcare centre. Having grown up immersed in the dynamics of a family-run business, Jack developed a profound understanding of the core values and dedication required to create an empowering and sustainable culture.

Since the centre first opened its doors in January of 2018, Jack has been an integral part of the management team, dedicated to upholding traditional family values in all aspects of his role. He envisions Discovery Tree as a cornerstone of the community and strives to create a home-away-from-home atmosphere, contributing positively to the lives of all who walk through its doors.

Guided by these same values, Jack also focuses on supporting our staff. He is committed to building a team that shares his passion for integrity and excellence in early childhood education, ensuring that each member contributes to the centre’s welcoming and caring environment. Jack believes that a strong, cohesive team is essential for delivering the highest standard of care and helps ensure that every child receives the best possible experience at our centre.

Chloe

Educational Leader

Our Educational Leader, Chloe, brings a diverse set of skills from an interdisciplinary background. Beginning her career in primary teaching, she worked in the UK, delivering early intervention to children with various backgrounds and abilities. Additionally, upon her return to Australia, Chloe gained experience working in a prep class at a digital school. Subsequently, she moved on to teach a completely online curriculum with the Queensland Department of Education for children scoring in the upper two bands of their Naplan testing.

During this time, Chloe established relationships with various schools, teachers, and families across Queensland and Victoria, delivering health and wellbeing modules. Additionally, while providing these modules in early years, primary, and secondary settings, she developed a particular interest in teaching in the early years space. Consequently, this interest led her to design teaching materials for educators in the early years before moving into her leadership role at Discovery Tree Early Learning Centre. Furthermore, she is set to graduate with a Master of Teaching and is completing a Trauma-Responsive Practice major to support play therapy and inclusive environments.

Ensuring Learning Continuity

Chloe’s role is to guide our team of educators and teachers to establish curriculum-based programs tailored to children’s specific ages, developmental milestones, and interests. She ensures continuity of learning across early learning and kinder programs. Furthermore, she aligns practice with the Early Years Learning Framework (V2.0), the Victorian Curriculum (Foundation), the 11 Child-Safe Standards (CCYP), and the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Additionally, Chloe invites families to discuss their children’s progress, welcomes visitors to explore our services, and encourages community collaboration in delivering our shared learning goals.

Chloe upholds our core beliefs and strongly advocates for an inclusive environment for all staff, children, and their families. Her priority is to provide a space with relevant and current learning trends, emphasising professional growth and development for herself and the entire team. Additionally, Chloe prides herself on providing staff with opportunities to engage in professional learning tailored to their areas of growth and interest. Furthermore, she aligns these opportunities with the specific goals and objectives of service delivery.
